Rise of the Guardians Review!!

Finally its out!

I waited a year to watch this, and its well worth the wait. Why you ask? Because of Jack Frost. Its where I got my last name from. But anyways

Its a bit silly I have to say. Specially the elves which are great for comic relief. Its got its cute moments, as well as some action on the side.

Although I do have to complain about one thing...it is a little 'me me me me' for a little while there from both parties...but it does get better as the movie goes on.

But oh those warm and fuzzy feelings all through the movie are planty, specially with the little girl playing this the Easter Bunny.

There are some scary parts including Pitch AKA the Boogy Man. So be wary of kids who are easily scared and prone to nightmares. My kids watch scary movies like they were cartoons so this was nothing to my kids.

There is a character death in the movie...so the kids might not like that either (But don't worry..he gets better)

Okay when I go into a movie and watch it...I expect to see the good guys win. No such luck. If you watched the old one...pretty much the same basic structure.

I understand its suppose to show people how brave we are as a people...but guh...yeah sure lets pick off everyone...Its all sad. No one wins. I hate that...Guh...OMG...Imma have to go wash my brain out with bleach and Ammonia.

I give this movie a don't...out of...watch.
Because I don't like kids dieing without any victory. Shits pointless...

Wreck-It Ralph Review

Just so you know this movie if freakin sweet. In many different ways.

First off I am loving the soundtrack. Its got that upbeat thing going. The song Sugar Rush gets stuck in your head very very easy...so be careful

At first the movie starts off slowly with Ralph being a little complainer about not being taken seriously. Then it picks up after Ralph goes AWOL...or missing in action depending on how you take it.

It shows a lot of old and new games inside the Arcade too so keep your eyes open. You might see something you know and/or played before.

Secondly the relationship between the commander and Felix is a romantic one so be prepared for that sort of thing.

The relationship between Ralph and Vinnelope is more or less father and daughter even though they aren't related at all.  So don't expect any sort of romance between those two.

I see the villain as being a more of a scooby doo reveal. 'I woulda got away with it if it weren't for you and your pesky fix it friend!' but yeah...

All in all it was a very heart warming movie, I'd recommend watching it once and decide for yourself. Or at least go listen to that soundtrack whoo!!

Empire of the Deep

This isn't going to be a happy review...

I was just given this movie to review. So I'm sitting there watching this to begin with...ancient Greece. I love ancient Greece, it was one of my majors in college. So at first I'm all 'yay this is gonna be so neat!' but then shit got real.

First thing I noticed was the flimsy looking costumes. If I wanted to see flimsy costumes I'll watch Swamp Thing. You can see where pieces are hanging off, and even on one part you can see a piece fall off. Yes I am well aware pieces of fish fall off all the time, just not in movies.

Secondly the battle sequences look like they were created by high schools Graphic Arts course. It looks cool on a piece of paper till you put them to screen and then it looks like shit.

The plot is much like the latest Disney flop that will not be named.

So yeah...I give this one a derp outta not even gonna watch again.

Okay first off...I was the only one in the theater. I figured it was cause the kids were at school and parents were at work...no...no thats not the reason.

Okay the idea of Bruce Willis going back to the past to kill his younger self is a little bit morbid and sad cause in doing so that would kill himself. So from the beginning you already know its a loosing battle. Cause one way or another...he's going to end up killing himself and thats kinda...stupid. Who decided to make this movie?

I give this movie a -3 out of 10. Terrible. Don't even spend your money on it. There is no happy ending!!

Paranorman

Okay first off...there will be tons of spoilers in this review...simply because it fucking rocks.

Alright just so you know I'm all for gay rights, and this movie apparently is too. The jock looking guy...is gay. No joke he makes a comment about 'dude you wanna go to the movies? My boyfriend is a chick flick kinda guy' thats not word for word...but he does say boyfriend liking chick flicks.

I love this movie mainly because I was the kid that got teased in school. I wasn't fat, nor was I weird. I just preferred to stick around with people that needed me to. They didn't expect me to wear the best cloths, or have the best hair cuts. This movie shows that the guy...or preferably the weird guy who hangs out with the fat kid...is a good guy no matter what.

Alright onto the parental stuff. Yes...there are curse words, and a few sexual references. Just not a lot of it, the cool chick...doesn't get the guy!! That is a first! I love that. The Zombies aren't even bad guys either!! They're just misunderstood.

I give this movie a 8 out of 10. Go watch it!!

Jurassic Park 4

Just so you know I have two fears...one of which can be seen as being completely irrational simply because its not possible. But these movies make me think it can happen. I'm afraid of heights and Dinosaurs.

But yes Jurassic Park 4's script is now finished and the making of it starts in December. Apparently they got the little boy from the first one Joe to play in part 4. Yup the little boy Tim is going back :D.

Not to sure on weather anyone else is going to pop up at all...but I'm sure.

Dark Knight Rises

It the light of what happened in Colorado I have kept my silence for a few days. But what happened won't stop me from doing my job. I will no longer be silent...I will be heard...and the media black out about it is obserd.

Alright I had went to the midnight release to my theater near me. And to throw this in the air...I never liked the first or second movie for this. So with that known I'm going to put this onto the pingpong table of movie science...

*Clears throat*

I liked this one

It wasn't that bad. I loved how they kind of made Batman be a secondary character and pushed Bruce Wayne into being a full character rather then someones secret identity. I look at this and think perhaps Bruce Wayne is the super Hero and Batman was really the person.

As far as the villains. I loved Bane the explanation of who the secondary villain was very well written and I love how Cat womans ears were actually just glasses in the shape of ears. I thought she was going to suck but it wasn't that bad and her life was a lot like a lost alley cat. Although it didn't really show her as having that much of a crazy streak...she seemed more innocent then Tim Burten's version of Cat Woman.

How they depicted the ending was well thought out and as much as I hate to say it...predictable. Right down to the rookie detective being Robin.

I give the movie a 7 out of 10...although I wish the movie was a bit shorter. My butt still hurts.

Oh this video has got me sooooo stocked for this movie :D I've got such a fascination for Jack Frost since I was a little girl.

The Amazing Spider-Man

I had gone to the midnight premier of this movie. I got a theater with a whole bunch of the employees (Mainly cause my husband manages the place) so I got to listen to there talk throughout the movie...so I'll relay this back to you.

The make up/CGI was actually pretty good...aside from the fact that The Lizard looked more like the 1993 Mario Bros movie Goomba rather then what he was suppose to look like. Also one thing that was going on was Spider-Man was flashing his face all over the place. So now the majority of New York knows what he looks like.

On a good note Stan Lee makes his well known appearance and I'm soooo glad Disney let him continue with that.

There is an after Credit...sort of...nothing about the Avengers...but mostly a continue for the trilogy. Don't stay after the credits...when you see the Professor in jail...thats the last bit. Its a waste of your time unless you just wanna sit and listen to the music.

The majority of the movie surrounds a bunch of teenage angst rather then saving the day. The scenes are very drawn out uselessly. I say the movie could have been shorter by about 30 minutes because of this fact. All in all...I think this movie shouldn't have been made.

I give it a -5 out of 10

Prometheus Review

First off...don't...just don't. This was mostly two and a half hours of people complaining about not finding what they wanted to...only to find out our makers created us...then wanted to kill us. There were only three aliens in the whole movie, and one of them didn't even get a chance to kill someone.

Okay I do have to say that the visual effects were pretty well constructed and the parts were well played.

The android...damn...such an evil thing he was. Only to turn around and survive!! er...Function

Okay I do have a bone to pick with the make up department about the old man...he doesn't look convincing enough and you can tell it was just the android guy in make up. Shitty job people!!

Okay there is one flaw that anyone could notice. At the very end you can see the woman lowering the androids body to the surface of the planet and her hair is whipping around...it wasn't before so you can't blame it on the air inside the suit...but the wind is blowing outside. So you can tell that she was green screened outside...why am I pointing this out you ask? Because she's got a helmet on!! Wind...helmet...NO!!! Not good together.

My verdict: 2 out of 10

Go watch Madagascar 3. You'll at least get your moneys' worth out of it.

Okay first off...forget MIB2...cause it sucks that bad.

MIB3 could just end up being called MIB2 cause MIB3 was soooo much better then 2.

Okay there are gonna and always going to be spoilers on my site so if you dont want any spoilers don't read any further.

Okay first off I think it was completely brilliant how they slid in the villain at the first part of the movie...however I would like to know how the villain was breathing while outside the prison on the moon.

Secondly Yes I am fully aware that when Agent K gets deleted from existence then Agent J would still be a US agent rather then an MIB. However there is a thing called a Sereo rip. Kinda like when in Back to the Future Marty didn't completely disappear...he only began to fad. So it wouldn't have caused to much of a problem...yet.

I have to point out my favorite character in this. Griffin. He's kinda neat and very very sweet. Doesn't like lies. A gentlemen type alien.

But anyways...yes go watch this. Do it...you must do it!!

Smurfs 3?

Columbia/Sony pictures are so confirmed about the second Smurf movie being a hit that they're already on the writers block making out the script for a third Smurf movie. I loved the first one as much as my daughter did...although she's been watching it every night since it was released on dvd. So I'm just wondering if they're counting there eggs to soon.

Avengers Review

I thought this multi-movie wrap up was brilliant. It pulled everything together like little cogs winding up into a great big clock. It gave everyone there own little jobs, and there wasn't much need for character developement since everyone was in there own movie...save for Black Widow and Hawkeye...they kind of stayed inside of other movies.

Okay first off I'm going to say...stay till after the credits...no not that part...the very end. Its so funny lol.

Anyways...this movie just has something for everyone. The nerds/genius/soldiers/women/men/and the heroes that jump up with them.

Okay as much as violence goes...yes its pretty violent not as much as the movies that came before it. You can count on the fact that villains are always gonna try to rule to world, and you can always depend on the heroes that will stop them. So yes there is violence, but the good guys always win.

As far as if kids should go see it...its fine. If they seen the ones before and were okay with it then let them go.

The only fault I see with this movie its got a bit of point of view vertigo. It won't give you whiplash or anything but it causes you to get a bit confused for only an instant.

One thing you can depend on is Captain America has a huge thing about there being one God (Which is neat actually) but then again he knows two Gods personally.  Tony Stark still has a big problem with people who seem to have more authority then he does. Nick Fury still won't die, Thor still talks like he's from the medieval times and still loves his little woman. (No arguments there) Bruce is still smarter then bacon, Hulk does smash (Yes...the reference is used) and there is always something at the end of the credits...

About the ending credits...the red guy...ISN'T THE RED SKULL!! Also..after that part...keep watching...theres more ;)

I give this movie a 100 out of 10 ;)

Did I meantion this movie has crushed records and made a cool 200 million for one weekend ? Yeah...share the wealth?

Dark Shadows Review

I was actually disappointed in this movie. I started watching this not expecting to see something from the old soap opera. Which is good cause its nothing like the original.

However the movie was very disappointing in other means. Where it tried to be funny it was series and where it tried to be series it was funny.

Its not a very good movie for little kids to see because of the outrageously obviously not having sex but were playing like they were. I wasn't happy with the multitude of having sex out of wedlock. I don't agree with that at all.

Also with the drugs...which I can't complain about it cause people still do that stuff.

Although the pro's of the completely conish style hate review...the values of family are very very strong and the Collins elder points it out vividly throughout the movie.

I give the movie a 4 out of 10

Avengers Midnight Showing Tonight!

Im going to be jumping on right after the movie to throw my two cents out there about the movie from a mothers point. I've been asked about it since half my friends who are mothers about weather it would be okay for there little ones to see a movie this violent. Let me throw this out there. When you were a kid...could 'you' handle it? If no then don't if yes let the kid decide. If he/she watches it and isn't effected then you can continue to let the child watch movies like this. I mean come on...its a movie about super heros. What could possibly go wrong right? (Watches daughter run down stairs wearing a towel and her underoos on the outside of her pants.) I stand corrected...*Le sigh.*

Halo movie cancelation confirmed...however

You remember all those days and nights (face it mostly early mornings) with your friends on Xboxlive playing tons of halo and talking about what it would be like to watch the movie. Well...sucks to be you...Weta workshop has finally decided to scrap the project.

 However (I love that word) 343 says they aren't going to make a movie but a series of five webisodes to see just how popular it really is outside the gaming comunity. I donno about you, but I'd love to see more of Halo and coming this holiday season my wish comes true for Halo 4 :D (Yes...I am a hot mama gamer ;) ) anyways. Yeah...no movie, but webisodes...look at it this way...you don't have to waste time pirating it.

Smurfs 2 Synopsis

Oh my daughter is going to be soooo happy about part 2 being planned and being made already. From Christina Ricci taking a part in the movie to the Synopsis being pulled outta the shadows so fast after the dvd release of the first. So here it is peeps...

Pixars Brave

Yeah I think Pixar might have crapped out yet another winner. Can these people ever get a movie that doesn't hit number one? I think I'mma call Monsters Inc 2: Monster University.  But then again I thought the same thing when they pooped out Toy Story 2 and 3. But I was amazed...and very teary eyed.

If you haven't noticed the movie is about a girl being forced to marry outside of love. She tries to win back her freedom by winning her own hand in marriage...in doing so she tempts fate and screws up time itself. We'll see what happens when the gods get involved.

Hotel Transylvania Trailer

Yay the trailer finally came out and...still...nothing in it about the basic plot/romance between the human boy and Dracula's daughter. Just pretty much the same information/video as the teaser. I find myself very disappointed in it. A little more...info please people!!

Short Circuit remake?

yup you heard me right they're remaking Short Circuit.

Not only that but they want the main character to be a pre-teen.

I'm not to sure about this because I'm a major fan of the original 1-2. Although I find myself very curious about. I'm going to be paying very close attention to this movie. I can't wait to learn more.

The Avengers

When Thor's adoptive brother (Loki) begins to have daddy issues and starts to harass the people that his daddy loves so much. Of course SHIELD is called in to try to take him out, which proves to be harder then originally thought. Specially since Loki now has an army to back him up.

Man of Steel/The Amazing Spiderman

I have reservations about blogging this. Mostly cause I'm not to sure about it. Its like Disney is dropping new super hero movies like they're candy not even feeling that there was once...just recently a revamp of it and people remember it. We don't want new, we want continued. I mean is Stan Lee gonna make his famed appearance like he normally does in the majority of the films that have been created? I love to see him dress up and act. I just loved the Hugh Hefner impression he did in Iron Man. I hear he chose all those chicks himself.

although with this one I hear Dan Gilvezan will be making a cameo for this movie. (In case you donno who that is...its the original spider man...and Bumblebee from Transformers :D)

I won't say much about the Amazing Spider Man...not yet anyways ;) But I will say...I'm not to happy about this Disney thing. But I guess I'll see when the movie is given to me in a few weeks.

Despicable Me 2: Synopsis

Okay everyone remembers the first movie...which was freakin awesome. My daughter wouldn't talk about anything else for almost a year. I was happy when I was spotted the fact that there will be a new one coming out next year :D

When the trailer popped up on the Lorax movie I had already watched it two days before hand thanks to the Gurus at Dreamworks. THANKS GUYS!! I sat in a room full of Kindergarteners (My daughters first field trip) so I got to hear first hand the cheers they call had for this trailer. There were so many my ears...my poor ears...and then the laugh for the ending.

So Just a bit ago I got the Synopsis for the movie. So here we go (I can't copy and paste so this is my word and no one elses.)

~Synopsis~

Yeah it was great having Gru who was a villain trying to take on the role of doting father to three adopted girls...but what if we throw in another father, who is a villain. We're given Al Pacino's character (Whose not named yet) who is a father to a little boy trying to make it to the top of the villain food chain, while trying to raise a little boy on his own. So now Gru has an arch rival.

So there you have it. Villain dad VS. Villain dad...wonder just whats gonna happen will an old foe step in and they realize they need each other, or do they fight against each other? We'll see next summer :D

However...if you feel comfortable with not taking your kids then grab you a baby sitter...but as far as myself (Who has kids) the goreiness isn't that bad. Yes there is blood, and yes people die, but you don't see anyones innards they are very well at covering up the people who die. However...

***SPOILERS!!!***

There are children who die who are as young as twelve, a boy is either decapitated or disemboweled you don't see it, several other kids ranging from 12-18 (just in case you haven't read the books yet...I guess do it, I didn't. but thats cause I'm to busy at the moment but I do plan on it.) There is a young girl who gets speared which had to happen...no I mean it, if they left it out they couldn't do the other two movies right. A girl gets stung to death by killer wasps, several get mob killed at the beginning. one eats poisoned berries, and another is killed by a pack of wild...somethings. Well...kinda.

If your okay with this then let your kids go see it. In my opinion...and I am a mother, I'd let my 6 year old go see it. She saw 'Season of the Witch' and didn't flinch. But...it would be fun to read the books out loud first that way they know just what they are getting into and see if they understand whats happening. If not wait a few years and introduce them at the proper age.

As far as my personal rating, and my review as a specialist for Paramount/Dreamworks/Newline Cinema's is as follows.

Its a movie designed to let a bunch of people from costuming to let there creative imaginations go crazy...and when I say go crazy...some of the outfits I'm sure we'll see on Lady Gaga soon. I didn't like them, they looked like crap. It was over done greatly. The opening ceremony costumes on some of the districts looked like they came from childrens imaginations. Yes some looked absolutely genius like District 12s (No I'm not playing favorites) but I think that majority of this movies budget went on wardrobe/makeup/and hair. A college team could have created this movie on less of a budget and made it seem just as good. I give this movie a 3 out of 10

Rise of The Guardians

Of Course everyone should know now that book based movies are becoming contagious for several studios. 'Harry Potter,' 'Lord of the Rings,' 'Twilight,' 'Hunger Games' 'How to train your dragon' and speaking of 'How to train your dragon' from the makers of this great movie come 'Rise of the Guardians.'

Rise of the Guardians is based on a book called 'Guardians of Childhood' by Williams Joyce. I've actually had the honor of reading this book with my kids. It was pretty good considering what they're probably going to do with it. Lets face it...DreamsWorks undoubtedly did a great job with How to train your dragon...but lets face it, there was nothing in it from the original story save for there names. They even ruined Toothless' if you haven't read the book series...Toothless is suppose to look like that tiny green dragon that could fit on Hiccups shoulder.

After you watch the Rise of the Guardians trailer...I suddenly stopped, and thought to myself. 'Wow...I'm actually impressed with this' Then I realized there is a character missing that's been all over there posters. 'Jack Frost' (who will be played by the new Capt. James T. Kirk.'Chris Pine'...or so says IMDB.com. which I don't really like to refer to. Specially since they're saying that there's a second 'Dark Crystal movie out in 2011...but there wasn't. Was heart broken)

Okay getting back to the characters. I was actually amazed to find out the voice of Santa/North (That Russian sounding guy) is being played by Alec Baldwin! I am very very stunned cause wow he did a great job on the voice. Another is the Easter Bunny/Bunnymund...that's Wolverine people!!...yeah High Jackman. Also the ToothFairy/Tooth (The chick from Rango) yeah Isla Fisher...The Sandman...not to sure about if anyone can tell me that would be great.

The bad guy...is Pitch (Jude Law) He controls the Darkness. He gets into your dreams and turns them into Nightmares. All those...badness points and stuff I won't tell you everything he can do. Only that he looks...wow bad (Self Censored)

Now heres something you don't see every day. Not only did William Joyce write this book series (Yes its a book series just like How to train your dragon, part two is How to be a Pirate) he's also an Executive producer...so this might end up being good :D
